When it comes to wooden spoons or spoons in general they come in different sizes, shapes and are made for different purposes, there aren’t restrictions in the design as long as the spoon is functional. We carved it from a piece of green beech using only traditional hand tools and he spoon is something in between an eating spoon and a small serving spoon or if you like it could be used like a measuring spoon.
It’s smooth like silk and it feels amazing in the hand since it was burnished and it has a knife finish.
With proper care it will last you for a lifetime :)
For the finish we applied two coats of olive oil.
The overall length of the spoon is 210 mm.
The bowl has a width 50 mm while the length is 55 mm.
The handle is 155 mm long.
Rub your spoon with olive, peanut or sunflower oil once a month.
Dip a paper towel into the oil and gently rub, using a circular motion over the surface of the wood.
Work the oil into the sides, top and bottom. When washing the spoon use water and a little bit of soap ( don’t use the dishwasher ) and after the washing is done rub the spoon with a towel to avoid moisture entering the wood and avoid cracking.
