|Dimensions||160 x 53 mm|
When it comes to wooden spoon or spoons in general they come in different sizes, shapes and are made for different purposes, there aren’t restrictions in the design as long as the spoon is functional. We carved this medium sized eating spoon from a piece of black cherry using only traditional hand tools. The spoon would be ideal for eating, sugar, salt, spices in general or anything else! 🙂
It’s smooth like silk and it feels amazing in the hand bacause it was sanded with 320 grit sandpaper.
It was “pre-washed”, after the sanding we boiled the spoon to raise the grain and then resanded it to make it more durable.
With proper care it will last you for a lifetime and more! 🙂
For the finish we applyed two coats of olive oil.
The overall length of the spoon is 160 mm.
The bowl has a width 53mm while the length is 38mm.
The handle is 107mm long.
Rub your spoon with olive oil, peanut or sunflower oil once a month.
Dip a paper towel into the oil and gently rub, using a circular motion over the surface of the wood.
Work the oil into the sides, top and bottom. When washing the spoon use water and a little bit of soap ( dont use the dishwasher ) and after the washing is done rub the spoon with a towel to avoid moisture entering the wood and avoid cracking.
